College Course Registration
General Guidelines:

Most students take 15-18 credit hours per
semester in order to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 4 years, or an
Associate of Arts degree in 2 years.

Maximum course load per semester is 18 credit
hours.

You must maintain at least 12 credit hours
within a semester to be considered full-time. This has implications for Student
Loan eligibility, scholarship eligibility, taxes, and International Students.

Transfer/Continuing
students should refer to your program sheet and/or your Transfer Analysis while
choosing courses, as you will most likely want to choose courses that fit your
program and dont overlap with your transfer credits or credits youve already
completed.

If the class you want to register for is full, keep
trying to register through Briercrest Live up until the Add/Drop deadline.
Spaces often do open up.

For modular classes that take place in January or at the end of April and
throughout the summer, existing dorm students will only be charged for their
meals. Students coming in for the week who need dorm accommodations will be
charged for both their room and meals.

100 and 200 level courses are generally open to freshmen unless there is a
pre-requisite (e.g., anyone may register for BLST 111, but unless you already
have completed ENG 100 and ENG 101, you may not register for ENG 210).

300 and 400 level courses are not open to freshmen. You must have a minimum of
30 credit hours completed to be eligible to register for these courses. Most 300
and 400 level courses have pre-requisites (e.g., you may not register for BLST
306 unless you have completed 30 credit hours and have completed BLST 230).

When registering for cross listed courses, be sure to register for the
discipline required in your program (e.g. EDUC/PSY 471). If you need an
Education course, register for EDUC 471; if you need a Psychology course,
register for PSY 471.

Meeting with your Program Coordinator/Faculty
Adviser once per semester is required.
